ITEM DESCRIPTION: MARVEL COMICS, X-MEN, VOL. 1, ISSUE #49, 1968. KEY VINTAGE SILVER AGE COMIC FEATURES A STAN LEE/ARNOLD DRAKE STORY AND JIM STERANKO ARTWORK OF THE FIRST APPEARANCE OF MESMERO AND THE FIRST APPEARANCE OF MAGNETO’S DAUGHTER LORNA DANE, POLARIS. ITEM CONDITION: COMIC IS HIGH GRADE IN MY OPINION. THIS COMIC IS IN SUPERB CONDITION AND WAS PRINTED IN 1968. THERE IS NO MOISTURE OR WATER DAMAGE OF ANY KIND. THE COLORS ARE BRIGHT AND APPEAR AS CRISP AND SHARP AS CAN BE. THE STAPLES ARE CLEAN AND SHINY. THERE IS A TINY CHIP TO THE TOP LEFT SPINE EDGE. THERE IS NO SPINE ROLL. THERE IS NO WRITING. THE COVER AND CENTERFOLD ARE FIRMLY ATTACHED. THE SPINE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH ONLY VERY SLIGHT STRESS LINES FROM, WHAT WOULD APPEAR, WERE ONE OR TWO READINGS. NOTHING IS MISSING FROM THE COMIC. THERE IS A SMALL LIGHT’BLUNT’ TO THE LOWER LEFT HAND COVER CORNER, ALTHOUGH NOT CONSIDERABLE/HEAVY. THE COMIC IS CERTAINLY HIGHER GRADE TO HIGH GRADE.
